Getting my truenas to see my domain

have you tried port forwarding. Personally I won't expose TN to the internet.

Ok the problem is not actually truenas however i have nextcloud plugin on truenas with the same ip as truenas i was trying to log into NextCloud so i can send my files from outside of my network however i can not get any clear answers from anywhere on how i can set up my Nextcloud plugin to be associated with my google domain name

But broadly speaking, there are a few things that need to happen:
  • Your (sub)domain name needs to point to your public IP address
  • Your router needs to forward ports 80/443 to the appropriate IP/port on your LAN
  • Your Nextcloud installation needs to be configured to know that the (sub)domain in question belongs to it
    • Your Nextcloud installation also needs to handle HTTPS with an appropriate certificate
The first of these is a DNS issue--you need to create a DNS record making the association. The second is a matter of configuring your router. The third is a matter of Nextcloud configuration, and I have no idea how that'd be done with the plugin--but nobody should be using plugins anyway. In my (admittedly biased) opinion, the best way to install Nextcloud is using my script:

...which handles the third and fourth bullets automatically.
