Hello all,

New user here. This is a new window upon boot up of my NAS. I have no idea what this means or does. Any help here is appreciated. I have posted a similar issue before in the general discussion thread where I would boot loop but with a different screen showing.

The screen is showing you that you have bootstrapped to the EFI Shell. You need to go into the BIOS and set the first boot device to you boot drive. If your boot drive has nothing on it, then you need to install TrueNAS on it.

This is what I see now after attempting to put the boot order as "legacy lexar ssd". This is what I was seeing before. I will retry putting truenas on the ssd. Don't know why I am getting this error. :/

What does this black option mean? I am having a hard time figuring out how to even get it to boot off the usb besides doing it here in some sort of custom path

I rebooted the system after resetting to default menu settings in the BIOS, setting up the boot devices in UEFI I believe in the BIOS, putting the lexar ssd as #1, reinstalled trueNAS via the prompts, and now I'm looking at this again

Looks like the BIOS is booting into EFI as default; in post #5 you are into some advanced EFI boot configurer. How are you connecting your boot drives?
I would:
  1. poweroff the system
  2. disconnect every drive but a single boot drive
  3. boot and press DEL until you get into BIOS settings
  4. look into the boot order/any particular boot config (I use DUAL boot mode select, you are using LEGACY)
  5. fix things, then save and reboot
  6. see how things go
Bonus tip: use IPMI to make screenshots instead of photos; my neck will thank you.

I followed these steps. I have logged now logged into TrueNAS. It seems after resetting to default settings in the BIOS and making sure everything was in "legacy" again, the computer took it. I am unsure if I will be able to log back into TrueNAS pain-free. However, if I have more issues I will be sure to follow your suggestion of using IPMI for screenshots. If anyone else has similar issues to me, feel free to DM and I can try my best to show you what worked for me and see if it works for you. Thank you to everyone that read my postings/replied!

While I know UEFI is the newer option (been around for decades) I still prefer LEGACY mode. It just seems to work.

Glad you got it to work.
